The Fourth of July and fireworks go hand-in-hand for many people. While beautiful to behold, fireworks can be very dangerous.
All businesses that store or sell fireworks — in a temporary or permanent structure — must have posted a valid Basic Business License and Certificate of Occupancy — both issued by DCRA. Businesses also need to have a posted firework permit and pass an inspection from the FEMS Fire Prevention Division/Fire Marshal.
To find a fireworks stand see the attached maps or this Google map.
To report a suspected illegal firework vendor or a licensed vendor suspected of selling illegal fireworks, please call 911 immediately. Residents can also provide tips to the Metropolitan Police Department by calling Anonymous Tip Line: 1-888-919-CRIME or sending a text to 50-411.
