Doing Underpinning? Notify Your Neighbor

According to the DCMR Title 12 District of Columbia Building Code Supplement, Section 3307A, when a property owner plans to perform underpinning work, the property owner must inform the owners of adjacent buildings via certified notification letters.

Get A Private Fire Hydrant Permit

All construction projects that include installation of fire hydrants on private property are required to obtain a building permit from the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.

Get a Supplemental Building Permit

These permits are required to install supplemental systems in buildings, per § 105.1.13 of the DC Municipal Regulations (DCMR). Only licensed DC contractors for each specific trade may apply for these permits. You may be required to complete a building permit for the supplemental permit.
