2009 Building Safety

When you enter a house or building, most likely you’re not thinking about whether it is properly constructed and safe. Fortunately, your local safety experts think about building safety and fire prevention every day. To help raise awareness of building safety, the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) celebrated Building Safety Week from May 3 through 9. We decided to keep this information up to ensure this information is available to you throughout the year.

DCRA's Homeowners Center provides prompt and expert help to DC homeowners who need building permits for their home improvement projects. Our staff is ready to give you clear information about permitting regulations, review your plans and issue permits. Visit the DCRA Homeowners Center or the DCRA Permit Center online today.

The Homeowners Center, located at 941 North Capitol Street, NE, 2nd Floor,  is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Below are printable brochures and other information and promotional flyers to provide homeowners and businesses important information on how to make your property safer.
