Office of the Zoning Administrator

DCRA's Office of the Zoning Administrator administers, interprets and enforces the zoning regulations under Title 11 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR). These development standards regulate the use of land, the height and size of buildings, the size of lots, provision of yards and other open space, parking requirements, and other related matters.

Most construction or rehabilitation on private land in the District must conform to the Zoning Regulations and Zoning Map adopted by the District's Zoning Commission .
