Building Safety Month

Building safety impacts everyone. Building Safety Month is a public safety awareness campaign initiated by the International Code Council. The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) proudly celebrates Building Safety Month annually during May to raise awareness of building safety to help individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create safe, resilient, affordable and energy-efficient homes and buildings. During the month of May, DCRA is hosting free events that highlight the need for safe and sustainable structures where we live, work and play. Join us all month to learn more about critical building safety issues from structural to fire prevention, plumbing and mechanical systems, and energy efficiency.
