4th Annual “Build It In DC” Conference Highlights All-Women Real Estate Development Panel

Tuesday, July 17, 2018
An Inclusive Space for Contractors, Builders and Government Entities to Connect

(WASHINGTON, DC) July 17, 2018 – The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) and Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) will host the 4th annual “Build It In DC” conference on Thursday, July 26. The conference serves as a unique opportunity for professionals in the real estate development and contracting industries to learn and connect directly with industry leaders and DC government decision-makers.

“As we’ve seen this event grow over the years, we’re really excited about meeting newcomers who want to build in the District and connecting them with decision makers,” said DCRA Director Melinda Bolling. “We have a unique vantage point in that each permit gives us a peek into the potential direction and growth of our city. This event provides us with valuable insight from the development community’s perspective.”

“Build It In DC” exists to inspire, inform, and connect the contractor and building improvement industry to resources needed to thrive in the District of Columbia. This year’s conference offers a dynamic line-up of speakers presenting best practices and case studies along with structured relationship building in the “Coffee + Connect” networking lounge.

The event serves as one of the District’s strongest resources for real estate development and construction professionals looking to learn more about permitting and regulatory information directly from the decision-makers and industry leaders in DC’s flourishing development landscape.

As DC’s development industry continues to diversify, Build It In DC is pleased to feature the first all-women closing panel, “The Future of Real Estate Development” at this year’s event moderated by Lisa Mallory, CEO of District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA). Panelists include Pamela Bundy, President & CEO, Bundy Development Corporation; Vicki Davis, Managing Partner of Urban Atlantic; Jodie McLean, CEO of EDENS; and Barbara Mullenex, Managing Principal of Perkins Eastman DC. The panel’s diverse exposure to all aspects of the District’s development landscape including legislative, government, developers and architects provide unique insights for attendees while showcasing the city’s innovative upcoming projects including Walter Reed, The Wharf and Union Market.

The interactive sessions will provide keen perspectives on DC’s development future and attendees with an opportunity to interact and ask questions to this esteemed panel of women leaders in real estate development.
“Washington, DC is constantly challenging the norm through inclusive innovation and support for our business communities. Build It In DC serves as a platform to highlight the robust resources available to real estate and contracting professionals and WDCEP is their first stop for business support through collaboration with our public partners,” said Keith J.
